Pediatric dentistry is such a booming segment of dental practices and this course provides a strong foundation for all clinicians looking to provide excellent care for infants to young children in their chair. Dr. Kiran Kulkarni, a board certified pediatric dentist, will focus on analyzing initial dentition, managing caries in primary dentition and managing space in mixed dentition.

This course is a 6 Category-1 CE approved course in Ontario and spots are limited. The location for the course will be the new Durban Labs Facility: 595a Trethewey Dr. North York, ON M6M 4B8. Early bird offer: $88 + HST.

Course Outline

The course reviews aspects of dentistry for children from birth to about early mixed dentition as might be practiced in a general dental office or one which caters primarily to families with young children. This course is meant both as a comprehensive review but also to introduce new concepts that are current standards of practice

At the end of this program, learners will be able to:

  • Analyze pre-dentate and initial dentition
  • Manage caries in primary dentition
  • Do space-analysis for mixed dentition
  • Understand and appropriately prescribe space gaining or reducing interventions for mixed dentition

This course is a 6 CE Category-1 approved course in Ontario. Also, you will earn 6 PACE approved CE for this course.

About Edropin Faculty

Dr. Gajanan Kulkarni 

Dr. Kulkarni is a tenured Associate Professor of Dentistry at the University of Toronto where he has been working since 1998. After his undergraduate dental training he obtained a M.Sc. degree and followed that with a specialty diploma in Pediatric Dentistry and a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Toronto. Following his formal education Dr. Kulkarni completed two post-doctoral fellowships at Guy’s Hospital, London, UK and Northwestern University, Chicago, IL, USA. He is presently a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and has been board certified in the USA. Dr. Kulkarni has over 150 publications and presentations in various fields of basic and clinical dental research and he is on the editorial boards of several journals. His duties as a full-time academic include teaching of undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate students. Dr. Kulkarni also maintains an active research program. His main research interests are in fields related to Pediatric Dentistry and he has recently been granted a US patent for an novel transdermal microneedle device for procedural sedation, Complimenting his academic career, Dr. Kulkarni practices pediatric dentistry with a special focus on children with special needs. Dr. Kulkarni has presented numerous continuing education courses and is an invited speaker to national and international conferences. Topics covered in his courses include: Infant oral health, restorative and pulp therapy for primary teeth, occlusal guidance in the primary and mixed dentition stages, behaviour management and sedation in pediatric patients, management of pediatric emergencies and complications, current standards, policies and guidelines in pediatric dental care.

Edropin shall be under no obligation to re-schedule any course which has been cancelled. edropin shall be under no obligation to offer meals or refreshments at any of its courses and is under no obligation to accommodate any special dietary restrictions at courses where meals are offered. 

edropin will not be liable for any expenses incurred by any registrant for attendance at a course, including but not limited to: travel expenses, accommodations, meals, salaries, wages, and loss of income, or for participant’s failure to attend a course. 

By registering for a course, registrants acknowledge having read and understood this disclaimer and registration fee policy and agree to hold harmless edropin as set out herein. 

Registration Fee Policy 

Registration course fees must be paid in full prior to the course. If such payment is not made, the registrant’s reservation for the course may be cancelled at the sole discretion of Edropin Inc. All cancellations have a mandatory 2.9 % plus $0.30 non-refundable credit card fee. The following cancellation policy applies for all courses: (i) cancellation 90 calendar days prior to the start date of the course – full refund; minus any processing fees (ii) cancellation between 90 and 30 calendar days prior to the start date of the course – refund less a 25% administration fee; (iii) cancellation less than 30 calendar days prior to the start date of the course – no refund. 

Edropin conflict of interest and regulations

All programs offered by edropin will be for scientific and educational purposes only and will not promote the products of the company directly. Edropin is responsible for the control of content and the selection of presenters and moderators. Edropin may work with or accept financial or in-kind support from other organizations but those organizations must first agree in writing that they will not direct the content of the program. Outside organizations or their agents will respond only to requests initiated by Edropin for suggestions of presenters or sources of possible presenters. edropin will record the role of the company or its agents and ensure that all names/roles are disclosed to participants prior to attending a program. 

Edropin is responsible for the control of content and the selection of presenters and moderators. The sponsors agree not to direct the content of the program. The sponsors will respond only to edropin initiated requests for suggestions of presenters or sources of possible presenters. The sponsors will suggest more than one name (if possible); will provide speaker qualifications; will disclose financial or other relationships between the sponsors and speaker; and will provide this information in writing. edropin will record the role of the COMPANY OR ITS AGENTS. 

 

The following is prohibited in any area of eDropin events: 

● Setting up Profiles and/or events that promote violence against or stereotypes of individuals or groups based on race, gender, religion, age, nationality, political affiliation or sexual orientation 

●Explicit or violent content

●Content that makes reference to weapons 

●Promoting an illegal activity 

●Being disrespectful  

●Revealing personal or identifying information about another user  

●Lessons that promote dubious business schemes or promises a specific outcome to users. 

●Engaging in fraudulent or misleading activity (including but not limited to: using multiple identities, email addresses, providing false or misleading information).

Edropin is designated as an Approved PACE Program Provider by the Academy of General Dentistry. The formal continuing education programs of this program provider are accepted by the AGD for Fellowship/Mastership and membership maintenance credit.
