Bio:
David McMillan, DDS, FAGD was a dean’s scholarship recipient at University of the Pacific School of
Dentistry and graduated in 2004. He practiced in Layton, Utah for thirteen years. He joined the
Academy of General Dentistry in 2006 and received his AGD fellowship award 2011. He served as the
Utah AGD president from 2013-14. He is an associate professor at Roseman University and serves as a
co-advisor for the Roseman Student Chapter of the Academy of General Dentistry. He practices part-
time in Riverton, Utah.
Outcomes:
1. Describe reasons and solutions for inadequate mandibular nerve block anesthesia.
2. Apply principles related to local anesthesia toxicity to clinical scenarios.
3. Identify guidelines when anesthetizing medically compromised patients.
Utah AGD is designated as an Approved PACE Program Provider by the Academy of General Dentistry. The formal continuing education programs of this program provider are accepted by the AGD for Fellowship/Mastership and membership maintenance credit.
