Course Description: Implant dentistry is a restorative modality with a surgical component. Dr. Justin Moody and Dr. Kristine Aadland will explore today's digital technology that allows us to deliver guided implant dentistry with the final restoration in mind with the click of the mouse. See how intraoral scanners and CBCT come together to create surgical guides, treatment prosthetics and final restorations.

Course Objectives:

1. Taking IOS and CBCT data to create surgical guides

2. Custom temporization, healing abutments and crown fabrication

3. Digital scanning of healed implant sites for lab fabrication

4. Same day chairside milling of single unit screw retained crowns

About the Speakers: 

Dr. Justin D. Moody grew up on a ranch just outside Crawford Nebraska where his family has called home for 6 generations. Graduating from Crawford High School in 1989 and attending the University of Nebraska at Lincoln studying Biological Sciences. In 1997 he graduated from the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center college of Dentistry with his doctorate. While indental school he was awarded the National Disaster Medical System Appreciation letter for his efforts during the Oklahoma City Bombing, the Teledyne Removable Prosthodontic outstanding student award, the Oral Pathology outstanding student award and completed a mini residency in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry department. Learning didn’t stop after graduating from dental school, Dr. Moody knew that incorporating dental implants into his practice was the right thing to do for his patients. He attended the prestigious Misch International Implant Institute where he was awarded a fellowship and mastership. Once a month for a year he flew to Atlanta Georgia to attend the AAID maxi-course residency at the Medical College of Georgia. That education and countless other courses and seminars gave Dr. Moody the knowledge and experience to become one the leading dental implantologists in the United States. He has earned Fellow and Diplomate status in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Fellow and Associate Fellow status in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and was one of the youngest Diplomates in the American Board of Oral Implantology/implant dentistry. Dr. Moody is adjunct faculty at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, a Mentor at the Kois Center in Seattle Washington and recently became an Honored Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Providing quality dental care to rural America is a priority of Dr. Moody’s, he is the owner of Horizon West Dental group which has multiple locations in western Nebraska providing state of the art dental care with the latest in technology by some of the most highly trained dentists around. In 2008 Dr. Moody limited his practice to the field of dental implants by opening the first Dental Implant Center in Rapid City South Dakota. Today there are multiple centers in the Midwest providing cutting edge dental implant care to thousands of patients. Understanding how important continuing education is to today’s general dentist, Dr. Moody founded Implant Pathway in 2014.  The curriculum and vision for Implant Pathway came from the many amazing dentists Dr. Moody learned from over the years and is now proud to call many of them faculty.  Live surgery training has always been the best form of learning, in 2017 Dr. Moody helped found the New Horizon Dental Institute in Tempe Arizona.   This 501(c)3 non-profit clinic was designed to help those that can’t afford dental implants as well as the day-to-day dentistry, it is here that the Implant Pathway attendees can gain the valuable live implant training while helping the most deserving people right here in the USA.

Dr. Kristine Aadland was raised in Vancouver, Washington. She completed her undergraduate work at Oregon State University, and subsequently went to Oregon Health Sciences University for dental school. In 2006, she graduated with Clinical Honors and returned to her hometown to start practicing as an associate dentist with the goal to have her own practice someday. In 2009, when the economy felt uncertain, I took a leap of faith and built my dream practice. I chose to differentiate myself in a competitive marketplace by creating a beautiful, spa-like dental office that utilized technology to make me better and more efficient. Dr. Aadland is constantly looking for ways to push the limits of 3D printing and CEREC technology with bridges, implants, orthodontics and my same day smile makeovers. This has all been made possible by the extensive continuing education that she does each year and the community she surrounds herself with who push and encourage her. In 2011, the Vancouver Community awarded her the distinction of “Accomplished and Under 40 Class”. She is honored to have been nominated by the Vancouver Business Journal as fastest growing businesses in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2015. Dr. Aadland is the lead CEREC instructor for CEREC Pathway which focuses on giving dentistry back to those in need while sharing her passion and knowledge with other dentists. Dr. Aadland is also Faculty for the NYU AEGD Program where she teaches residents digital technology. Dr. Aadland has promoted her passion for educating on many stages to include DS World, Thrive Live, Pathway Symposium, VOD, and many more!
