March 24, 2023 — Treatment Planning Single Unit Implant Restorations

Description: Making sure an implant is osseointegrated is only one aspect of successful implant treatment. ultimately the success of the treatment depends on the successful delivery of a final restoration that is esthetically pleasing, functionally efficient and biomechanically sound. This course will cover the different aspects to consider when treatment planning single unit anterior and posterior implant restorations in order to ensure success in esthetics, function and biomechanics. The course will also cover how to ensure you reach this goal by covering the different steps of implant restoration for single teeth implants.

Objectives:

  • Be familiar with implant components and types of implants restorations
  • Be familiar with the different considerations that affect the prognosis of implant restorations.
  • Be familiar with the steps of restoring a single tooth implant.

March 25, 2023 — Removable Partial Dentures: Planning to Treatment

Description: Removable Partial Dentures (RPDs) are often tedious and laden with confusion and mystery which leads most practitioners to stray away from RPD treatments, however there is a growing need for RPD treatment among some patient populations. This lecture aims to simplify RPD treatment planning by presenting a design philosophy that is based on the best possible evidence, simplicity and common sense. The course will also take advantage of Artificially intelligent tools to assist in RPD design as well as take you through the different steps and troubleshooting steps in RPD treatment.

Objectives:

  • Understand proper RPD design and biomechanics.
  • Be familiar with the steps needed for RPD treatment.
  • Be able to troubleshoot possible issues with RPD treatment.

About the Speaker: Dr. Ahmed Mahrous, BDS, MS, is an Associate professor at the Arizona School of Dentistry and oral Health Division of Prosthodontics. Where he serves as the Director for CAD CAM Dentistry. Dr. Mahrous completed his bachelor’s degree in dentistry from Pharos University in Egypt and completed his prosthodontics certificate and a MS in oral science from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry where her currently serves as an adjunct professor. Dr. Mahrous holds office at the American College of Prosthodontics as a member of the ACP Digital Dentistry Workgroup, He serves as the Chair-Elect of the prosthodontics section at The American Dental Education Association (ADEA). Dr. Mahrous serves as a test constructor for the American Dental Association (ADA). He is also the developer of the online Dental Atlas and the and Co-Developer of AIDental RPD Designer software.
