April 5, 2023 — Local Anesthesia - Painless Injections

1 hour lecture followed by Q&A

Course Description: If it's true that "people remember how you make them feel," then performing painless injections is a crucial component to making a lasting positive impression on your patients. Administering local anesthesia doesn’t have to be a stressful part of anyone’s day. This course will review stepwise techniques to accomplish profound anesthesia administered painlessly which ultimately contributes to a patient experience exceeding their expectations.

Course Objectives:

  • Understand the sequence and technique that will allow for painless injections
  • Review different classes of local anesthetics and how best to utilize them
  • Recognize specific cases requiring special considerations

April 19, 2023 — Dental Acid Erosion: The Body's Cry for Help

2 hour lecture followed by Q&A

Course Description: Dental clinicians are often one of the first to identify a patient at risk of the harmful effects of an oral-systemic acidic environment. Having the ability to find these sometimes asymptomatic presentations puts us in an opportunistic position to help our patietns not only identify and manage oral complications of acid erosion but also encourage them to take steps to heal the rest of their body. This course will provide insightful pearls on identifying, educating, and treating patients with acid erosion.

Course Objectives:

  • Understand the etiologies of dental acid erosion
  • Educate patients on unexpected low pH levels of certain foods and drinks
  • Identify the difference between other etiologies of enamel loss
  • Properly manage erosions cases in your practice
  • Educate patients on potential underlying systemic conditions associated with dental acid erosion

May 3, 2023 — Clicks, Pops, & Headaches: TMJ Management in Private Practive

2 hour lecture followed by Q&A

Course Description: TMD cases have a stigma of being tricky. Not necessarily because they are hard to treat, but becasue the signs and symptoms can present in so many different ways thus making treatment options more confusing to navigate. This course is designed to simplify TMD cases into categories that will lead to more strategic and successful treatment decisions.

Course Objectives:

  • Identify occlusal factors that can contribue to orofacial pain
  • Identify joint vs. muscle-related TMD issues
  • Understand and implement a stepwise TMJ evaluation
  • Manage acute TMD emergencies 
  • Work through a decision tree to properly select occlusal guard design and material 
  • consider combination treamtent modalities for TMD management

Speaker: Dr. Courtney Brady 

About the Speaker: Dr. Courtney Brady is a Massachusetts native having grown up on the beaches of Cape Cod. Her fervor for diagnosing and treating TMD began early in her career when she was afforded the opportunity to learn firsthand from Dr. Peter Dawson and other likeminded mentors during her residency at the University of Florida's AEGD. Dr. Brady continues to hone her skills with countless hours of continuing education from world renowned speakers and mentors. 

Dr. Brady has served on many committees with both the Academy of General Dentistry and the Massachusetts Dental Society including a 4-year term for the National AGD's Scientific Meetings Council. She has also served as Massachusetts AGD President and has lectured on both a local nad national level including Yankee Dental Congress and ASDA National Meeting. Dr. Brady practices in Westborough, MA where she focuses on comprehensive care that hinges on occlusion, TMD therapy, and esthetics.

Registration course fees must be paid in full prior to the course. If such payment is not made, the registrant’s reservation for the course may be canceled at the sole discretion of Massachusetts AGD. Because we are offering this course at a subsidized fee, the registration fee is non-refundable.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

Massachusetts AGD reserves the right to: (i) cancel any course at any time; (ii) change speakers; (iii) change the venue; (iv) change the programming; (v) change the time; and (vi) change the location, all without notice and at its sole discretion and shall not be liable for any costs, expenses, damages or any other amount whatsoever due to such cancellation or changes to the course offering. Edropin shall be under no obligation to reschedule any course which has been canceled. edropin shall be under no obligation to offer meals or refreshments at any of its courses and is under no obligation to accommodate any special dietary restrictions at courses where meals are offered.
Massachusetts AGD will not be liable for any expenses incurred by any registrant for attendance at a course, including but not limited to: accommodations, salaries, wages, and loss of income, or for participant’s failure to attend a course.
