Comprehensive Review of Endodontic Dentistry

***Attendees will need to collect and mount 10 teeth (ex: 3 Anteriors, 3 Premolars, 4 Molars), not previously RCT, anatomically intact (no fractured crowns), and closed apices. All other course materials provided

Course Description:

Have you ever wondered how to address a persistent endodontic infection? Or how to use a CBCT to help you find that hidden canal? Or would you just like to brush up on your endodontic skills? Join us for a two day course with Dr. Rob Roda and Dr. Brad Gettleman for a comprehensive endodontic lecture and hands on course.

This course will focus on areas of endodontic diagnosis with and without CBCT, obturation and instrumentation techniques, diagnostic and treatment of dental trauma and resorption, discussion of treatment options for persistent disease, and also discuss dental-legal scenarios with regards to endodontic treatment.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

• Effectively diagnose complex endodontic problems
• Treatment plan and perform different endodontic techniques
• Identify diagnose endodontic problems using 3D Imaging

Tentative Course Schedule:

8am - 12pm: Didactic Education

12pm - 1pm: Lunch

1pm - 1:30pm: Demo

1:30pm - 5pm: Hands-on Clinical Training

Speaker Bio:

Dr. Rob Roda received his BS in Biology (1977) and DDS degrees (1981) at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada and practiced as a general dentist in Nova Scotia for 10 years. He earned his MS in Oral Biology and Certificate of Specialty in Endodontics at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas in 1993 and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics in 1998. Dr. Roda is a Past President of the American Association of Endodontists and the current President-Elect of the Arizona Dental Association. He is an Endodontic Consultant to the Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners, Visiting Lecturer in the Endodontic Department at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health, and Associate Editor of the Journal of Endodontics. Dr. Roda is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), American Association of Endodontists (AAE), the Canadian Academy of Endodontics, and the Central Arizona Dental Society (CADS). He is also fluent in French.

Dr. Brad Gettleman earned his dental degree from the University of Missouri, in Kansas City. He finished his Master's Degree and Endodontic Residency at the University of Minnesota. He has published numerous articles of Endodontic Therapy. He is a member of the Westside Dental Study Club (past president), American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, where he had a tenure as chairman of the Professional Standards Peer Review and Ethics Committee, Arizona Endodontic Association (past president), and the Arizona State Dental Association. Dr. Gettleman is a Diplomat of the American Board of Endodontics and has been in private practice since 1989 and currently also works as a part-time assistant clinical professor Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Glendale, AZ.
