Are You Looking To Up Your Restorative Game?
Join us for a full-day Category-1 course with Dr. John Maggio. This day is packed with two back-to-back restorative courses on dealing with cervical lesions and how to manage patients who keep breaking their restorations.
What ARE those grooves that some patients develop on some of their teeth? Are they caused by tooth brushing? Occlusal forces and habits? Acid erosion? Or is it all of the above?
In this course, Dr. Maggio provides scientific evidence of what we currently know about this phenomenon. After discussing the etiologies, protocols will be developed to find and manage the causes for individual patients. Specific indications for restoring these lesions will be presented, with helpful techniques for restoration of these challenging lesions.
👉 After completing the section, you will:
✅ See the multifactorial cause of these lesions, and distinguish between occlusal wear and acid erosion.
✅ Know how to counsel patients on tooth brushing, acidic foods and drinks, and occlusal habits.
✅ Choose the best material for each lesion: resin composite, glass ionomer or sandwich restoration.
Nothing is more frustrating than spending time restoring a patient’s teeth and seeing them repeatedly fracture. This course goes back to the root of the problem to understand why restorations fail, and how to predict mishaps before they occur.
Topics will include conformative occlusion, vertical and horizontal envelopes and types of supereruption. Best practices for success with post, core and crown design, and implant placement, will be presented.
This very practical course combines the current evidence with practical information for the dental practitioner. Many cases (and failures) will be presented, with a discussion of causes and possible remedies.
👉 After completing the section, participants will:
✅ Be familiar with why patients drift into unhealthy positions anterior to centric occlusion.
✅ Understand the concept of Neutral Zone and explain why teeth are positioned where they are.
✅ Realize the disastrous results of missing molars, and know how to communicate that to patients.
